Micro –credit for women empowerment & its impact on livelihood condition of rural Bangladesh
Introduction:
Poverty is the running mate of the universe. The economists, social scientists and the government of different countries in different times have tried to shoot this trouble. So far, the tools have been used for this purposes, micro –credit has been proved to be the most effective one Now it has become a much fevered tool to poverty alleviation with its particular role to women empowerment and provide livelihood condition of rural Bangladesh. As a world -wide phenomenon micro credit has now outreached well over more than hundred million poor population across the globe.
By exercising and practicing micro-credit and gained knowledge on this issue stakeholders are improving their clothing, housing, child care & child-education , health & sanitation. etc. In short, we can say that, micro-credit can ensure total socio-economic development of the rural poor. By exercising micro-credit in rural Bangladesh women are achieving equal social ,political & economic rights and improving their lives & livelihoods. Micro-credit has appeared to be a part of the world community by contributing a lot to the improvement of life style of the poor. Such development aims to ensure women's active and full participation in every possible aspect of the family, society and the state.

In Bangladesh GO and NGOs are trying to empower women for establishing livelihood condition.
Micro-credit initiatives:
Bangladesh is known as the birth place and a global centre of excellence in micro-credit. It is the home to some of words leading micro finance institutions and has been recognized internationally as the "University of Micro-finance". Both formal and semi-formal initiatives are on to alleviate rural poverty through micro-credit in Bangladesh. They are:-
1.Formal initiatives:
a) Government ministries and Departments: As may as13Ministries and 15 Departments .
b) Nationalized commercial& specialized Banks:
c) Specialized Organizations like:
2. Semi Formal Initiatives:
After liberation of Bangladesh hundreds of specialized micro-credit NGOs emerged adopting different visions of Grameen model, to provide micro-credit as key component to their agenda. They are :BRAC, AS, PDBF ,Prosika, CARITAS, RDRS, TMSS, BoroTangail and BEES.
